BRING BACK 90S MEMORIES !
THE CHILDHOOD WE REMEMBER
For many parents today, childhood began in the 80s… but truly came alive in the 90s. It was a different kind of time. Slower. Freer. Somehow fuller. There was no social media. Hardly any mobile phones. If you wanted to meet a friend, you called the house phone and hoped they were home. If they didn’t show up, that was it. Once you stepped outside, you were simply… out.
And yet, we always found each other. Always connecting. Through being outside. Through showing up. We met in person. Every day, for hours. No real plans, no endless messages. Just knocking on doors, asking “is he or she home?”, and heading out together. Simple.

LIFE ON THE STREET
The 90s weren’t just lived. They were played. Outside. On the street. Everywhere. We didn’t stay in, we went out. Riding bikes not just to get somewhere, but simply to ride. Roller skating, skateboarding, racing each other down the street. Jumping on the back of someone’s bike at the last moment, just to join the fun.

We made up games as we went. We drew entire worlds with chalk on the pavement, only to wash it away later under the watchful eye of a grumpy neighbour. We organised races between skaters and cyclists. We drove go-karts down the street like it was our own racetrack.

On warm days, there were rocket ice creams, sticky fingers and endless afternoons that felt like they would never end. We dared each other to try the strangest games, just to see who would go first. We invented the silliest challenges, anything that would make us laugh.

The newest things back then were Walkmans and Game Boys. The older kids had them. They would sit under the trees, playing, while keeping an eye on a younger brother or sister finishing one last game. “Oh, just one more… please.” It felt easy. Together. Staying outside long after the sun had set, well past the time we were supposed to be in bed.

DRESSING MEMORIES, THEN AND NOW
At AO76, those memories never really left. They live on in the way we design. Instinctively. Honestly. Always close to how we remember it. In pieces that feel right, that bring a sense of ease, and a kind of quiet beauty. In colours and artworks that connect, spark something, and carry a sense of positivity.
And maybe that’s exactly why something familiar keeps finding its way in. There has always been something slightly vintage, a little eclectic in the way we bring things together. A mix of influences we grew up with and still love today.

Our roots in sportswear continue to shape what we create. Relaxed silhouettes. Comfortable T-shirts. Easy sweaters. Hoodies that feel lived-in from the start. Pieces made to move. To play. To be worn again and again.
You’ll recognise subtle 90s influences as well. Not as a trend, but as a feeling. Shorter T-shirts. Wider fits. Denim in washed, authentic finishes. Because many of our own memories were made wearing clothes like these. Clothes that moved with us, got dirty with us, and stayed with us.

Today, we pass that same quality, softness and spirit on to the next generation. So they can run, play, explore and create memories of their own. Just like we did.

DRESSING MEMORIES SINCE 1976
In the end, our clothes became part of the memories. They were there for it all. The long days outside, playing different games. The cooler evenings when you needed an extra layer. The sleepovers. And the moments when your clothes got a little too dirty, and you simply changed and kept going.

The memories that stayed with us. AO76 was there back then. And still is today. For 50 years, dressing moments like these.

In our new Summer campaign, and throughout our 50th anniversary Spring Summer collection, you’ll find that same feeling again. Where clothes and moments come together, just as they did back then.

You make the memories. We dress them. Since 1976.
